Since 1976 Chris O'Doherty has been a guitarist with the renowned 'Mental as Anything' rock group and he has become better known as Reg Mombassa. Nevertheless, he has maintained a highly successful career as a painter. His first painting exhibition was at Watters Gallery in 1975 and he has had many solo as well as group shows since. His work is very well represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales as well as the National Gallery of Australia and other important collections. The Victorian Tapestry Workshop has also completed a commissioned a work.
